Being a good neighbour starts with listening.

News   /

As construction progresses on CDC's campus at Marsden Park, thousands of workers and increased construction activity will come to the site. We know that development on this scale can affect the people and organisations around us. That is why talking with our neighbours, understanding their needs and finding practical solutions together is an important part of how we work.

Close neighbours.

One of our closest neighbours is the Baitul Huda Mosque, home to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Australia. The mosque has been part of Marsden Park since 1983, long before much of the development that has transformed the area around it.

Over recent months, CDC and the Mosque's leadership have been talking about how we can manage construction activity while respecting the needs of both organisations.

Those conversations have resulted in a practical agreement that will benefit both neighbours.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association will make part of its land available to CDC during construction, providing additional parking for our construction workforce and a second access point for the site throughout the duration of the project. This will help reduce construction traffic on Hollinsworth Road.

In return, CDC will upgrade the Mosque's driveway and car park.

It is a relatively simple arrangement, but an important one. It shows what can happen when neighbours sit down together, talk openly about what they need and look for a solution that works for everyone.

Recently, the Baitul Huda Mosque community welcomed members of the CDC team to mark the agreement with prayers, speeches and a ceremonial sod turn.

We thank the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association for its generosity and hospitality, and for working with us to find a solution that supports both organisations.

Construction at Marsden Park will continue for several years, with different stages of development underway through to 2029. CDC is committed to keeping the community informed, listening to local perspectives and working collaboratively as the project progresses.

For us, being a good neighbour isn't simply about minimising the impacts of construction. It's about keeping the conversation open and working together when opportunities or challenges arise. Learn more about our Marsden Park data centre on our project page Marsden Park
