Friday 28 November 2025, marked a pivotal day for Australia’s data centre sector with the official launch of Data Centres Australia (DCA), the new peak body bringing together industry leaders to promote innovation, resilience, and sustainable development. As Australia positions itself as a global hub for AI infrastructure investment, CDC is proud to celebrate this milestone and reaffirm its longstanding commitment to driving the nations digital transformation.

Since its founding in 2007, CDC has been at the forefront of Australia’s data centre industry, continually working to make the nation a leading market for secure, resilient, and high-performance digital infrastructure. Under the leadership of Greg Boorer, company Founder and CEO, CDC has grown to become the largest data centre provider in Australia, setting industry standards and championing technological progress across both Australia and New Zealand.

Greg Boorer reflects on CDC’s journey, “CDC, as the largest data centre provider in Australia, has been leading the charge for our nation to become a digital infrastructure hub in the region, to showcase the capabilities we have as a nation, the investments we can make as an industry and the jobs and economic benefits we can generate as a sector for the broader society. We are excited about the opportunity to build on the work done to date, including across the sector and with our customers, and present a united and clear voice on this front. The opportunity for Australia is immense - we now need to make sure we’re effective in realising it. DCA has an important role to play in helping achieve that.”

The establishment of DCA represents a strategic step forward for the sector, providing a platform for collaboration across industry, government, and stakeholders. CDC is honoured to be a founding member, working alongside peers including AirTrunk, Amazon Web Services, Equinix, Goodman Group, Microsoft, NEXTDC, Schneider Electric, STACK Infrastructure and TikTok, to advocate for policies and investments that drive innovation, strengthen Australia’s sovereign capability, and build a skilled workforce ready for the demands of an AI-enabled future.

Through active engagement with DCA, CDC will continue to lead by example, promoting best practices in security, sustainability, and operational excellence.

CDC remains dedicated to powering Australia’s digital backbone and helping the broader society realise the immense potential for Australia in the era of artificial intelligence.
