CDC is the foremost destination for customers who cannot — and will not — compromise on the foundations of their digital critical infrastructure.
We deliver trusted services that support many government and critical infrastructure organisations to ensure the safety, prosperity, security and health of Australia and New Zealand.
Together with our customers, we harness the power of critical partnership to safeguard national progress.
In 2007, our founder and CEO Greg Boorer identified a gap in the market for scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective data centre services.
In 2008, the first CDC data centre went live and today is still supporting the business outcomes of CDC customers.
Headquartered in Canberra, Australia, CDC is now the leading developer, owner and operator of secure, sovereign and connected, large-scale data centres across Australia and New Zealand.
The vision of our founder still inspires everyone at CDC today – from our dedication to customer service to our uncompromising approach to security, resilience and availability and our culture of inclusivity, diversity and sustainability.
CDC has identified key actions to lead the data centre industry in renewable energy initiatives.
CDC already uses renewable energy across most of its existing campuses — our campuses in Canberra use 100 per cent renewable power.
Our data centre campuses in Aotearoa New Zealand have been using Toitū carbonzero certified 100 per cent renewable electricity from the first day of operations and are certified Toitū net carbonzero and Toitū enviromark gold. Our business participates in New Zealand’s Permanent Forest Sink Initiative.
CDC is also taking steps to leverage our scale — expected to reach nearly 800 MW in the period ahead — to support the development of the renewables industry and enable our customers to share the benefits.
Traditional data centres that rely on evaporative water-based cooling methods can each day use the equivalent of up to 100 households for each megawatt of capacity.
CDC has taken a deliberate and innovative approach to designing proprietary closed-loop cooling for our facilities to achieve our goal of being the most water efficient data centre provider.
Our data centres consume zero water for cooling, saving up to 5 GL of water a year – the equivalent of 10 per cent of all water used in the Australian Capital Territory.
As we continue to innovate, we will strive to set new world-class data centre water usage efficiency standards that will help inspire other providers in the industry to join us in taking a sustainable approach to water consumption.
CDC is proud to make a measurable difference in our surrounding communities. Through numerous partnerships we support grassroots organisations and create local opportunities to build for a better world.
We are proud of our people and always seek to provide the best possible work environment, foster workplace inclusivity and diversity and operate a zero-harm policy.
We work hard to be the best and safest place to work and an industry leader in diversity and inclusion, including 40:40:20 gender balance across our organisation.
We procure from a diverse and morally responsible supplier-base, and as such require suppliers to conduct themselves with the same socially conscious ethos that is embodied in CDC.

Each CDC facility operates according to comprehensive environmental management plans. This includes continuous monitoring and reporting on performance with a focus on continuous improvement. Annual audits are also conducted.
The Tāmaki Makaurau Silverdale and Hobsonville hyperscale data centre campuses are home to the largest and most secure centres of their type in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Both campuses have been using 100 per cent renewable power since their first day of operations and are certified Toitū net carbonzero and Toitū enviromark gold.
CDC maintains certification with AS/NZS ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System for all sites. All CDC data centres are certified to meet local and global environmental, energy management and security standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, SOC2 Type II, PCI DSS.
CDC has implemented global best practice governance structures and procedures to govern itself, make effective decisions, comply with the law, and meet the needs of external stakeholders.
